Personality Type---What about Me? My personality type of ESFJ (Extravert, Sensing, Feeling, and Judgement) is notorious for being sociable and outgoing, always willing to understand the needs of others and expressing appreciation for their contributions. ESFJs are known for collecting the facts needed first before making a decision and organizing effective procedures. Often times my personality type is critical of mistakes more easily than rewarding expected duties. Individuals of this personality type are typically people persons and enjoy being around people. According to the Personality Page, (n.d.) people have a habit of using their sensing and judging characteristics to gather detailed information about others, and turn this information into supportive judgments. Working with Others ESFJs thrive on procedure and appointment setting making sure to get tasks completed the day they are due. Communication is constantly happening within the day care centre and in my job role I have a responsibility to communicate with staff, service users and other professionals. I use various forms of communication but I also seek to make sure that it is understood. Communication has got to be understood before it can be effective and so I try to ensure comprehension when I am verbally speaking by getting staff to repeat what I have asked them to do. I also write simply worded memos and emails to ensure ease of comprehension. No Speech/Speech Impediments Some of our service users have poor speech or no speech at all.
